Just in time for the start of university at the Cologne campus in the Müngersdorf Technology Park, INU – Innovative University of Applied Sciences is offering prospective students 30 free innovation scholarships for online studies with selected on-campus offerings. But the countdown is on as the application deadline is April 17, 2023. Until then, however, interested parties can still easily apply online in just a few steps.

“As a university of applied sciences, INU – Innovative University offers its students a new type of study concept in which you can study purely online or online in combination with selected events on-campus,” explains Prof. Dr. Marcus Pradel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and INU founding initiator.

With the start of teaching in the summer semester of 2023, prospective students now have a one-time opportunity to apply for one of a total of 30 free innovation scholarships that INU is making available in its three full-time bachelor’s degree programs in psychology (B.Sc.), business psychology (B.Sc.) or international business administration (B.A.). In each case, the scholarship holders are granted a 100% waiver of tuition fees with an equivalent value of just under EUR 20,000.

At the same time, the INU university team is pleased to have a highly qualified reinforcement in that Dr. Ute Gartzen-Wiegand has been appointed professor and founding president of INU by Prof. Dr. Pradel. Dr. Ekkehard Krah and Dr. Malte Albrecht were also appointed as new professors at INU. Flanked by academic staff, other university lecturers and the administration, the team for Hochschulstart in Cologne is thus in place.

“The INU concept is characterized not only by maximum flexibility in terms of time and space, but also allows students to ideally combine travel, work and study. Therefore, the focus here is less on the OR and more on the AND. You don’t have to choose between a gap year for orientation or time off with travel instead of studying. With our ‘Study, Work & Travel’ approach, it’s easy to combine when and how you want. This is what makes INU so special,” emphasizes Prof. Dr. Pradel, “because not only has the zeitgeist of the young Generation Y and Z changed, but also many first-year students often had bad learning experiences during the Corona pandemic or had to forego trips and possible experiences abroad. All this and more has inspired us in developing the novel INU university concept to rethink existing study programs and concepts and as a result develop an innovative and appealing university.”

Dr.-Ing. Dirk Bernhard, member of the Executive Board and also founding initiator, has made the digital development of INU his primary task: “The complete organization of the studies is handled via the INU APP. With the help of our digital educational companion, students can access and interactively edit all relevant teaching and learning content of their studies directly and from anywhere via smartphone or iPad/tablet. At the same time, the INU APP is also a personal assistant that makes it easy to organize and work through all important information, appointments and tasks during the studies right from the start.”

On this basis, the 30 innovation fellows can be offered a new way of studying, traveling and working, which offers a lot of freedom and flexibility from the very first hour and with which the daily study routine can be freely organized. The scholarship holders thus belong to a new generation of students who can shape their own future with a pioneering spirit and commitment as innovators.

The scholarship holders are not only able to successfully complete their studies, but they also shape the INU community together and can share their own experiences and insights with other prospective students as INU ambassadors.

The countdown is on: the application deadline is 12 noon on April 17, 2023.
